I am also attracted by art which is stylized and art which depicts the schematic, especially in reference to non-scientific subjects. As I began to formalise my interest in structure and randomness, this attention to the working of the real world is complemented by a love for the unreal, the unlikely and the impossible, which emerges in, for example, increasingly elaborate Yuletide decorations, images based on dreams and writing detective stories featuring vampires and aliens in disguise.
